The search for the missing mountaineer in Elvand was unsuccessful

According to ISNA, “Ali Sanjarbegi” said:

Yesterday (Wednesday, February 8th), the specialized and professional teams of the Red Crescent and the Mountaineering Board of the province had a drone and ground surveillance operation until 14:00 and 15:00 in the afternoon. Unfortunately, these searches were also unsuccessful on the sixth day and we did not find any traces of the fourth climber.

Referring to the unfavorable conditions of Alvand highlands today, he said:

Currently, on the seventh day of the disappearance of this mountaineer, the specialized teams of the Red Crescent and the mountaineering team are stationed in the desired area at the mountain base and if the conditions are favorable, they will continue the search process, while these teams are currently clearing the entire area where the last missing mountaineer is believed to be.

Referring to the joint meeting held yesterday to investigate the incident of the missing climbers in Alvand mountain, with the presence of the director general of crisis management of the governorate, the deputy governor, the sports deputy of the General Directorate of Sports and Youth, the CEO of the Red Crescent Society of the province and members of the mountaineering delegation at the site of the Red Crescent Society, Sanjarbegi pointed out:

In this meeting, the dimensions of the accident and the way to continue the search process were investigated and decisions were made, among these decisions was that according to the weather forecast and the unfavorable weather conditions with snowfall and strong winds, especially in the heights of Alvand, if the weather conditions in the area are unfavorable, we will stop the search and when the conditions become favorable, we will start the search process again, because according to the weather conditions in the heights of Alvand, other colleagues may also have an accident.

Referring to the vastness of “crow’s nest”, he noted:

One of the problems of our teams in searching for the fourth missing mountaineer of Elvand is that we do not know exactly which direction this mountaineer went on the day of the accident, and only one or two people said that he was seen near the “Crow’s Nest”.

Sanjarbegi stated that it is not clear whether this mountaineer went to “Dasht Mishan”, “Takht Nader”, “Dasht Barf” or “Imamzade” Mohsen on the day of the incident.

In addition, his friends also report that on the day of the accident, one of them got separated and was not with them due to unfavorable weather conditions, strong blizzard and reduced horizontal visibility, and they do not know where he got separated from them.

He continued:

It is possible that the last missing mountaineer of Elvand Heights, instead of coming to Takht Nader, went to the avalanche valley “Hell Valley”, which is one of the most dangerous and dangerous valleys, and several mountaineers have had accidents in it in the past years.

It should be mentioned that on the third Friday of Bahman, four mountaineers went missing in the heights of Alvand due to an avalanche. The teams of the Red Crescent and the Hamadan Mountaineering Committee have started searching for these people in the mountains. So far, the bodies of the three missing mountaineers have been discovered and found, and the search for the fourth mountaineer is still going on after seven days.
