Meteorology warned of snow and cold; Drivers should bring chains

According to Isna, “Sadegh Ziyaian” predicted the weather conditions for the coming days from today to Friday (January 29 to February 3) and said:

Today, in the western part of Iran, north of Bushehr and Fars, west of Isfahan, as well as the southern slopes of Alborz located in Qazvin, Alborz and Tehran, in addition to the areas west of the shores of the Caspian Sea, wind, rain and snow are expected. These conditions are expected in the form of snowfall in the cold and mountainous areas of the northwest and west, and in some areas of the south and southwest, in the form of torrential rain and sometimes accompanied by lightning.

He continued:

On this day, it will snow in the south of West Azarbaijan, West Kurdistan, East East Azarbaijan, North Ardabil and Western Alborz highlands, and it will rain heavily in West Gilan.

Ziyaian added:

Tomorrow (January 30), in addition to the mentioned areas, rainfall, wind and temperature drop are expected in the entire northern belt and central areas. Tomorrow, precipitation will occur in the form of snow in the northern half, and heavy precipitation will occur in Gilan, west of Mazandaran, central Alborz highlands and north of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari. On Wednesday (1st of Bahman), the extent of precipitation will be active in the eastern half of the country, except for the south of Sistan and Baluchistan and Hormozgan, and dust will occur in Razavi Khorasan on Wednesday.

He stated:

On Thursday (2nd of February), the wind in the east and southeast will be the dominant atmospheric phenomenon, and after that, with the passage of mid-level atmospheric waves from the west in the areas of the central Zagros slopes located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, northern Khuzestan, Lorestan, Ilam, Kermanshah, western Kurdistan, southern West Azarbaijan, Hamedan, Markazi, Qom, and also in the southern slopes of Alborz located in Zanjan, Qazvin, Alborz and Tehran, there will be an increase in clouds, wind, sometimes Rain and snow are expected.

The head of the National Center for Forecasting and Crisis Management of Weather Risks continued:

These weather conditions will continue in these areas on Friday (Bahman 3), and heavy rains are expected in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, east of Lorestan, west of Kermanshah and north of Ilam. A decrease in temperature is expected on Tuesday in the western half and Wednesday in the eastern half, and according to the maps, today’s weather in the north of the Persian Gulf, on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Strait of Hormuz, the Oman Sea, and in the next three days, the Caspian Sea will be rough and turbulent.

The head of the National Center for Forecasting and Crisis Management of Weather Risks further stated about the weather situation in Tehran during the next two days:

The sky of Tehran tomorrow (January 30) is expected to be cloudy, with rain and snow in some hours and strong wind blowing with a minimum temperature of 2 degrees, a maximum temperature of 6 degrees and the day after tomorrow (1st of February) slightly cloudy to partly cloudy with a strong wind blowing with a minimum temperature of -1 and a maximum temperature of 3 degrees Celsius.

Ziaian said:

Tomorrow, Zanjan is expected to be the coldest with a minimum temperature of -5 degrees, Hamadan with a temperature of -12 degrees Celsius, and Bandar Abbas with a maximum temperature of 24 and 22 degrees Celsius are the warmest centers of the provinces.

Siavash Mohebi, deputy of the Faraja highway police, said about the latest weather-traffic situation in the axes of the country:

In most of the axes of provinces across the country, we are witnessing snowfall and rain.

Regarding the traffic situation in the northern axes of the country, he said:

The traffic situation in the northern axes is smooth and there is no traffic problem so far.

The deputy of Faraja Highway Police emphasized that the surface of the axles is slippery and drivers should be careful, adding:

Until now, we do not have an axis that is blocked due to snow and rain. Loved ones who are planning to travel should bring chains and winter equipment, warm clothes and food.
