Rain and cold warning for 26 provinces of the country; Noticeable drop in temperature in Tehran

According to the information of the Meteorological Organization, today in most regions of the country, except for the south-east and south of the country, torrential rain, wind, sometimes thunder, temperature drop in high altitudes and cold regions, snowfall and rain are expected.

An orange level warning of snow and rain has been issued in Gilan, Mazandaran, South and Central Ardabil provinces, North Khorasan, Razavi Khorasan, North South Khorasan, East and Semnan highlands, Tehran, Alborz, Qazvin and Zanjan provinces, Northeast Khuzestan, Lorestan, Northwest Chaharmahal Bakhtiari, and heights and ranges in East Azarbaijan, West Azarbaijan and North Ardabil provinces.

According to this warning, snowfall and rain, temporary strong wind, thunder with possibility of hail in the southern regions, snow blizzard in the passes and mountainous areas, temperature drop and fog phenomenon are predicted. Also, in these provinces, there is a possibility of disruption in the transport fleet, slippage of transport axes and blockage of snow-collecting passes and rural roads in cold regions due to snowfall, possibility of power outages, flooding of roads, flooding of rivers.

In addition, the Meteorological Organization has issued an orange level warning of a severe drop in temperature and frost in the semi-northern, western and southwestern provinces. In this way, a noticeable drop in temperature with an average of 7 to 12 degrees, frost and the continuation of unusually cold weather are predicted in these regions. According to this warning, in these provinces, there is an increase in the consumption of energy carriers, the possibility of a decrease in energy resources, freezing of the surface of communication roads, and slippery roads.

It is recommended that people pay attention to the management and saving of energy consumption in the domestic and industrial sectors, and the necessary arrangements should be made to ensure that roads and passages are not slippery.
