Some tourism agencies active in the field of incoming tourists informed Kajaro that they faced the cancellation of planned trips of foreign tourists, and now some tourism guilds, including hotels and airlines, are not willing to return the booking fees for these trips.
Two-way damage to tourism agencies!
Internet outages and some unrest in the country have led to the cancellation of incoming tours to the country. The agencies in the field of inbound tours, who initially faced the problem of internet disconnection and lack of communication with their foreign travelers and partners, now faced a wave of travel cancellations.
According to information received by Kojaro, a number of incoming tours to the country have been canceled and some foreign tourists in Iran have also left their trips half-finished. Agencies active in the field of inbound tourism have lost their planned revenues for the coming months, and now they are facing the problem of canceling their reservations with domestic hotels and airlines. Currently, domestic hotels and airlines are not willing to return the money of the reservations of passengers whose trips have been canceled.
This recurring situation, which always occurs after such problems, has faced a two-way loss for the few agencies active in the field of incoming tourists to Iran, who hardly have any travelers to Iran these days. Travel agencies are now faced with canceled trips and revenue and have to pay for their reservations.
When they don’t announce force conditions!
Unlike the previous cases, this time the Ministry of Tourism and the Civil Aviation Organization prevented the announcement of force majeure conditions on the pretext of widespread flight cancellations, and airlines and hotels are preventing the return of the costs of booking canceled trips on this pretext.
This is while these guilds received the money for the reserved services and especially the airlines are reselling their canceled seats; While the financial loss of this event only affects tourism agencies. In such circumstances, it is not clear when the situation of tourists entering the country will return to normal for the agencies active in this field, and they are facing millions of tomans in losses due to the cancellation of trips in addition to their current expenses.
Activists in the field of tourism informed Kajaro that they are currently following up on this situation through regulatory bodies and recovering the costs of booking canceled trips.
