The Dakar Rally has always been a reminder of dust, excruciating heat and sleeping in difficult conditions; But a team of designers have decided to change this unwritten rule. They have built a truck that looks like a normal support vehicle; But inside, it hides a luxurious mansion. (Newatlas)

The “Shiver Offroad” racing team has unveiled a 6-wheeled monster. This car is not going to participate in the race; Rather, it will be a safe and luxurious shelter for the team members among the sand dunes of Saudi Arabia. The real magic of this structure happens when the truck stops. With the push of a button, the side walls slide out, making the interior almost three times larger. This compartment, which is mounted on a powerful MAN truck chassis, is about 17 square meters when closed. But after opening, it turns into a spacious space with an area of 42 square meters.

Shiver Offroad designers have left no stone unturned to build a mobile villa. A full wall of glass (from floor to ceiling) allows residents to take in the unparalleled view of the desert while sipping coffee. The interior includes sleeping quarters for 6 people, a full kitchen with an induction stove and refrigerator, and even a separate bathroom and toilet. The charm of the story does not end there. A spiral staircase is installed at the end of the car that leads to a roof terrace. Imagine standing on the roof of your truck watching the sunset over the desert after a stressful day at the races.
The Shaver mobile home is designed for complete self-sufficiency. The use of a powerful battery bank and an internal generator makes all amenities, including the air conditioning system, work in the heat of the desert without the need for city electricity; Of course, this level of prosperity does not come cheaply. Estimates put the convertible’s base price (not including the price of the truck and custom interior) at around $312,000. This car may not be first at the end of the race; But it definitely wins the “comfortable sleeper in the desert” award.
