A massive fire broke out in Yongqing Temple, one of the 1,500-year-old historical monuments in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province, China. Yongqing Temple is one of the well-known cultural and religious places in China. A significant part of this wooden building close to the temple is burning in the fire.
Heavy smoke and fire were seen from this structure quickly; Witnesses say the flames were very high.
Local fire brigades were sent to the place and by the afternoon of the same day, they took partial control of the fire and no casualties were reported. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, and it is possible that there was a fault in the wiring, the use of candles or oud caused the fire.
