There is a picture of the oldest existing paintings from the two southern tombs number 5 and the northern tomb number 6 of Persepolis, which is painted by “Jean Chardin”. There are 6 rock tombs of Achaemenid kings, four of which are located in Rostam Naqsh and two of them are located on the top of Persepolis. The northern tomb, which is located in front of the Hundred Pillar Palace, probably belongs to Ardeshir III; On the top of the tomb, the images of the representatives of different nations are carved, carrying the king’s head on their shoulders, and the king is standing on top of it.
The southern tomb also belongs to Ardeshir II, and almost all the tombs are similar. This mausoleum also has the design of the royal throne in the upper part, which is on the head of the representatives of the nations, and there are inscribed stones next to it.
