The world’s selected images of this week again showcased the diverse and sometimes contradictory figure of human life, from passionate cultural celebrations to the relentless struggle of natural disasters. In parts of the world, the angry nature showed a devastating face. In Spain and Portugal, terrible fires forced people to save their homes, and in Iraq, historical wetlands became a hard desert by drought. On the other hand, in Pakistan and India, monsoon floods raised devastation and made the streets full of water.
At the same time, some people in the world had traditional parades, dance and celebration, belief, history and culture. In Indonesia, the parade of independence was held, and in Türkiye, the villagers displayed the traditional dance of “Barbana” as a symbol of alliance. The followers of the Hindu ritual celebrated their beliefs by carrying the GaneSha statue in Mumbai and the Buddhist pilgrims with the Panchadaan in Nepal. (Guardian)
