In the latest study, a group of World Monuments Foundation Foundation (World Monuments Fund) posted more than 5 new and unknown structures in an area called Gran Pajatén, an ancient site on a hill in the Rio Abisu National Park, Río Abiseo.
Gran Pajatén was re -discovered in the 1980s, and its main collection consists of four structures, one of the most prominent evidence of Chachapia civilization.
Located on a mountainous line, it has prominent roles and ritual buildings decorated with stone mosaics. Initially, it was thought that (Gran Pajatén) was just a remote defensive base, but it is now known that the site was an important center in the chachapia settlement throughout the region. Recent research has expanded this view; Because they have revealed the place in a precursor road system.
Juan Pablo de La Puente Brunke, Executive Director of the World Historical Monuments Foundation in Peru, said:
The place probably had a ritual and symbolic function, while also serving as a cultural and territorial strategic center. The complexity of its architecture and its prominent view shows that this place has a central role in how the land, beliefs and social life of the people of Chachapuya played a central role.
Despite the remote location and limited access of visitors, Gran Pajatén is still one of the most endangered places in the heart of a vulnerable forest ecosystem.
For this reason, the researchers in their latest studies have used much less aggressive tools than sickle, shovel or brush.
