Morteza Hesari, head of the excavation team, said:
During the excavations, a bed with two deliberate holes was discovered at one end, which is likely to be a small fishing or lectarous tour. Near this object, two stone handmade features have been obtained with the technological features of the Paleolithic period.
The archaeologist pointed out the importance of these findings:
The affinity between the perforated object and the stone tools made with the hardcut, which is characterized by the Paleolithic period, raises fundamental questions about the timing of maritime and the exploitation of ancient marine resources in the area.
He stressed.
Although stone tools with thick desert gallows are very old, the pierced piercings have different erosion patterns. These differences lead us to conduct further studies, including the examination of the microphone of archeology and dating.
Hesari pointed out:
There have been several hypotheses for these findings in the context of various experts. On the one hand, these objects may truly belong to the Paleolithic era and be a sign of the exploitation of hunters-tragic communities; On the other hand, there is also the possibility of remnants of several cultural periods in this place.
According to the head of the excavation team, in another trench adjacent to the discovery site, the clay pieces of the fourth millennium BC have been identified, indicating a long -term continuity of residence or use of this place.
He added.
As long as there is no more accurate evidence, it is not possible to speak with the assurance of the attribution of these objects to the Paleolithic era, though current data are very promising and valuable.
Hesari emphasized the need for coherent and interdisciplinary research:
We are in specialized investigations to understand the relationship of these objects more closely with the archaeological layers. In general, the findings of the recent field chapter have opened up a new perspective on recognizing the ancient history of maritime on the coast of Makran and could reinforce its position in pre -history studies in southeastern Iran.
