As one of the famous squares of Tehran, Tajrish Square has had a different status in different periods of history.
Tehran’s Tajrish Square is now an attractive and well-known square in the north of the capital. This square was noticed after the development of the city of Tehran towards the north, and it was developed with the expansion of the use of Saad Abad Palace in the neighborhood of the square. However, according to the history of Tehran, the old square of Tajrish was actually in the place of the current square of Quds, and the current square of Tajrish is known as Sir Pol.
Frederick J. Kolb, an American photographer who lived in Iran during the first Pahlavi period, left a valuable historical photo of Tajrish Square.
The sign of the Paparian pharmacy in this photo, as well as the view of snow on the northern mountains of Tehran, together with the image of a passing car, has turned this photo into an important source of information.
