The director general of cultural heritage of Fars province announced the completion of the restoration of the prominent figure of Qirokarzin party soldier.
Mohammad Thabit Eqlidi said:
This prominent map suffered human and chemical damage in the open environment, and according to the investigations and preliminary documentation, the restoration plan of this prominent relief was prepared.
Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars Province continued:
This petroglyph had damages such as cracking, weathering and biological factors, which after careful documentation, initial cleaning including dust removal and some inscriptions on the work were done with restoration materials. Using special strengthening materials for restoration, cracks and other parts that were damaged were repaired in principle by experts in the field of stone restoration.
Tabet Euklidi, referring to the special importance of this petroglyph, said:
This work is the only surviving relief from the Parthian period in Fars province, which shows a Parthian soldier shooting a bow with a crossbow on his back.
He placed this landmark 15 km southeast of Firozabad and Karzin, 20 km south of Qir and in the northern heights of Qir. The relief is created on a stone slab with dimensions of 3 x 3 meters, the height of the relief is the natural height of a human. This work was registered in the list of national works with number 939 in 1354.
