The director general of planning and supervision of passenger services of the railway company provided details about the tourist train.
Mohsen Tabatabai, explaining the plans of tourist trains, told ISNA:
In tourist trains, the passenger inside the train benefits from tourist services; Like the train from Tehran to Shirgah, which has stops on the way, the route is pristine and there is no road on the way. Passengers use the facilities of the route, and inside the train, explanations are given about the places, and the route is attractive for tourism. The first tourist train from Tehran to Kashan has been launched recently. This train does not stop until Kashan and special services are provided on the way. After that, it will be a combination of rail and road; That is, there are buses at the end of the route that take passengers to historical places and after visiting them, the passengers return to Tehran by train.
The director general of passenger services planning and supervision of the railway company stated:
This action will remove a large number of cars from this route and provide safe travel for passengers. In addition, travelers will use tourism services. The railway is planning to develop tourist trains. The beginning of this work started about two months ago with the Tehran-Shirgah train, which is continuously repeated every two weeks. The Tehran-Kashan train will also run every two weeks.
Tabatabai stated:
We plan to launch new routes on special occasions. Trains are under consideration but not finalized yet. We are consulting with contractors in this regard. We intend to provide this service to people at the lowest cost, and the basic price and ticket price are the same as other trains on this route. The cost of all tour services is also calculated on the ticket.
He pointed out that we are planning to implement Golden Triangle tourism from February.
The Golden Triangle is actually the cities of Isfahan, Shiraz, and Yazd, which have good tourism facilities, and we have had experience with it before, and we are pursuing it so that we can set up routes for travelers to use. That is, the train will first enter Isfahan, then Shiraz and then Yazd in a several-day trip from Tehran and finally return to Tehran.
Tabatabai expressed his hope that we will launch the first train in February, and if it is accepted, the next trains will be added. Currently, we have trains on Tehran-Shiraz, Tehran-Isfahan and Tehran-Yazd routes, but there is no such train as a tour.
General Director of Planning and Supervision of Passenger Services of the Railway Company in response to the question whether there are enough trains and tickets or not? said:
As soon as the tourist train is ready, the site is opened and the purchase is made through the 5149 system and notification. There are definitely shortages in the supply of tourist and intercity tickets, and we cannot supply as much as we want. In fact, we should be able to serve with the existing infrastructure. The fleet may not have been added, but with the efforts of our colleagues in the railways and requests to increase productivity, we have created infrastructure and we intend to continue this.
He also said about the monitoring of ticket prices:
The ticket prices are fixed and the ticketing system is always integrated and monitored by the railways.
