After 89 years, Golestan Palace’s ownership document was issued to the government.
The title deed of Golestan Palace with an area of 50,000 square meters was issued by the employees of Molavi’s Deeds and Real Estate Office on behalf of cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts.
Golestan Palace is the name of a part of a historical site in Tehran, which was later known as “Royal Citadel of Tehran”. This name is derived from a hall in the current Golestan Palace and belonged to the reign of Fath Ali Shah Qajar, which became popular during the era of Naser al-Din Shah under the title of “Blessed Buildings of Golestan” and was used in an official manner under the name of Golestan Palace during the reign of Muzaffar al-Din Shah.
Golestan Palace was registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2013.
