The women of Naser al-Din Shah took a commemorative photo in the house of “Anis al-Doulah”.
The women of Naser al-Din Shah and his harem are an interesting and different part of the Qajar period. With the arrival of the photographic camera in Iran, we now have spectacular historical images of Shah Qajar’s women and the people of his harem. In one of the images of the shadow albums of the royal album library of Golestan Palace, a photo of the Shah’s women’s holiday party at Anis al-Doulah house can be seen.
In the caption of this photo it is written in Shah’s handwriting:
Guests are our women at Anis al-Doulah’s house.
“Fateme”, known as Anis al-Dawlah, is one of the famous women of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, who was known as Sugli Shah and had a special power and superiority in the royal harem.
