After visiting Iran Mall, a number of foreign tourists have written their opinions and experiences about Iran’s largest shopping center on Google Maps.
Iran Mall, or Iran’s Grand Bazaar, is one of the largest shopping centers in the world, located in the west of Tehran and near Chitgar Lake. The commercial, administrative, recreational, cultural and sports complex of Iran Mall includes various and varied sections, including a hotel, a cinema campus, a hypermarket, an ice rink, a reception hall, a helium park, etc. Iran Mall was opened in 1397 and since that year, it has hosted many visitors and tourists and is considered one of the best shopping centers for goods and souvenirs. Some foreign tourists who have visited Iran Mall have shared their opinions and experiences with Google users.
1. Ebru Karalar from Turkey
Iranians have extremely delicate taste. The products of this shopping center were immensely enjoyable; But due to the economic crisis, many stores were empty. The library is a must see. It is a library in name only, and inside there is also a museum and a gallery. It is wonderful.
2. Shutaro Uno from Japan
There were many facilities that cost money; But there were few people and I felt lonely. There are only brands available that I don’t know about. It is far from the city center; So I don’t think there is any justification for spending time and money to go there.
3. David Fox from Canada
This is my first time visiting this mall. what can i say Iran Mall is really impressive in every way! From the moment you walk in, the space and architecture of the place is amazing. It’s hard to see everything in one visit; With so many unique shops, cafes and restaurants to explore. While you won’t find international luxury brands like Gucci or Zara due to sanctions, the selection of local and regional stores more than makes up for it. The library and mirror hall must be seen; It’s really spectacular! Whether you’re shopping, dining, or just want to enjoy the beautiful architecture, this mall has something for everyone. A wonderful place to visit even if you just come for the scenery.
4. Alexandru Ioan from Romania
It is more than a simple shopping center and is mainly a tourist attraction with different places to explore. (film festivals, coffee shops, ice skating, art galleries, singing fountains, etc.). Not all shops are open; But still worth a look.
5. Jason Chow from Hong Kong
Iran Mall is known as the largest shopping center in the world; I have no doubt, it is really big; But what is the point of building the world’s largest shopping center in Tehran, especially in a part of Tehran that is so secluded? There are no tourists there. On the day we visited Iran Mall, my wife and I were probably the only tourists there. The mall is very empty. Several parts of the mall are closed or under development. There are not many shops and each shop is the size of a large department store; But in fact, many products are not displayed inside; These types of goods are not rare in Tehran; They are not made for the public or the middle class and only target the richest people in Tehran. The audience of this property may be 0.1% of the population. Without the government’s energy subsidy, these large but empty malls wouldn’t even be able to pay their energy bills. The food court is probably the most visited place by locals; But the food industry in Iran is really bad! 20 food stalls in the food court basically sell the same things; Pizza, burger, pasta and Coca-Cola. All junk food is from the west. No Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Thai food! Do not be mistaken! I enjoyed my trip to Iran very much and Iranians are very nice and friendly. But Iran’s food culture is boring and without variety; Just grilled meat with bread or rice. As a traveler from East Asia, the food is the least enjoyable in Iran.
