The historical house of the manager of Langrod was destroyed against the promises to preserve it.
The owner started the demolition of the historic manager’s house in the city of Langrod at the end of July this year.
This valuable house was not registered as a cultural heritage of Gilan province, and the owners and the municipality had destroyed the building through a non-transparent process. However, after the protests against the beginning of the demolition of this historical building, the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of Gilan Province announced the suspension and the obligation of the owner to rebuild the building.
But Jahani, the director general of cultural heritage of Gilan, said after the destruction of half of the building:
Following the inquiry regarding the issuance of a building permit for the property in question by the municipality in March of 1402, it was clearly stated in the response that the building was considered valuable in the Jirga of Buildings. Therefore, any demolition of the building is prohibited and it is inevitable to preserve the building by stabilizing the existing situation. The important administrative building of Langrud located in the east of the province should be completely restored. In the meeting, it was decided that the owner of the administrative building will restore and restore the building under the supervision of technical experts of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of the province, and also by the order of the prosecutor, any excavation operations in the area of the administrative building were prohibited until further notice and the assignment of the building.
Despite these promises, in the last days of last week, the owner of the historical house of Madiri completely destroyed the building, and there was no news of stopping and paying attention to the order of cultural heritage.
