Gonbad Kavos city in Gorgan province hosts one of the important historical monuments of Iran, which is known as “Qaboos Dome” or “Kavos Dome”. The date of construction of this tower, which is actually the tomb of one of the emirs of the Al-Ziyar dynasty named “Qaboos bin Vashmgir”, dates back to the 4th century AH. This historical work, which is also registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List, annually hosts many tourists who visit it from all over the world.
