The Sassanid relief goes under protective cover

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Fars province announced the implementation of the project of organization and implementation of the protection cover of Sassanid motifs of Tangab Valley in Firouzabad city.

Mohammad Thabit Eqlidi Babian said that the Sassanid relief of the Tangab Valley is one of the most valuable works in the global Sasanian archaeological landscape of Fars province:

This prominent figure was registered in the national list in 1315. Due to the antiquity and value of the work, as well as the fundamental protection of it, the project of organizing this prominent role has been put on the agenda.

The implementation of this project in order to prevent environmental damage is prominent. The protection and organization of the prominent Sassanid relief of Tangab Valley is implemented with a credit of more than 732 million Tomans.

This bas-relief is the scene of the victory of Ardeshir I of Sassanid over Ardavan V Parthian and is considered the biggest relief of the province. The global Sassanian archaeological landscape of Fars is located in three cities of Fars province, and the works of the Sasanian era include Dokhtar Castle, Ardeshir Palace, Shahrgor in Firozabad city, Sasanian Palace in Sarvostan city and the historical city of Bishapur, the reliefs of Tangab Valley in Firozabad and Tang Chogan and Shapur Cave in Kazerun city.
