The most beautiful places to see in Hormozgan
The beauty and wonder of Hormozgan does not end with its coastal strip and famous islands, but you are right if you have heard less about the attractions of this province. We suggest that you include visiting the attractions of this area in your travel plan on your next trip to this area.
1. Khorsin Cave
Hormozgan is not a city of springs and waterfalls, but the Khorsin salt cave has a unique and spectacular waterfall in its heart, the beauty of which is complemented by salt crystals and cauliflower candles. This cave is located in Siyaho district and 80 kilometers away from Bandar Abbas. When you pass by this place, walk slowly and carefully so as not to disturb the order of unstable and salty stones.
2. Large bathroom
Did you know that the largest bath in Bandar Abbas, which dates back to the Qajar era, has remained intact until today? The large bathroom is made of stone, brick, plaster and mortar and has 2 sections for men and women. This space was a public bath until the late 50s and now it is part of the forgotten heritage of this city.
3. Gnu hot spring
GNU Hydrotherapy Complex is one of the most attractive places to visit in Hormozgan. Here you can see the hot springs that are scattered and hidden on the slopes of Gonu Mountain, the second highest peak of Hormozgan, to arouse the taste of adventure in tourists. In addition to their undeniable beauty, these springs also have healing properties, and just like the tea plant, they heal any pain. Around this area, there are favorable recreational and tourism facilities.
4. Pavilion
Kolafrangi Mansion is a 300-year-old relic of the Safavid era and is one of the must-see places in Hormozgan in Bandar Abbas. Tourists who have a taste for art and history will find the different and cone-shaped architecture of this building attractive and impressive. Unfortunately, currently, parts of this building have been destroyed and it is not possible to visit the inside of the building, but we suggest you to see it as a historical building.
5. Museum of Anthropology of the Persian Gulf
Hormozgan has a few interesting museums! One of the most famous of them is the Persian Gulf Museum of Anthropology with the traditional architecture of Hormozgan. This 3-story building has several different sections, including coin and gallery section, service section, specialized library, exhibition, traditional market and archeology section. If you are a museum-goer, visiting the Wildlife Museum and the Bandar Abbas Water Museum is also worth a visit.
6. Hindu Temple (Goran Idol Temple)
The Hindu Temple is different from all other attractions in Hormozgan. The architecture of this building is just like Hindu temples in India and attracts the attention of every newcomer. If you are interested in seeing the place of worship of Indian traders and workers around 1310 AH and you like to see the religious paintings, niches and frames left, don’t miss the opportunity to see this temple.
7. Finn’s Castle
Are you tired of watching historical monuments being eroded? Fin Castle is one of the most precious historical buildings of Bandar Abbas, which dates back to the time of the arrival of Islam in Iran. After you’ve had your fill of the fort, visit Hosseiniyeh and the Karbalai Mosque of Abu Tarab, which has an abandoned cemetery with some valuable historical monuments.
8. Shamil village
Shamil, one of the most pristine scenic villages of Hormozgan, welcomes tourists with various attractions. Among the attractive sights of this village, we can mention the Shamil Dam, Shamil Castle, hot spring, Nyan waterfall, and Red Dome. Due to the mild weather and green landscape of this area in winter, we suggest that you postpone visiting this village until the last months of the year.
9. Bandar Abbas markets
On your trip to Bandar Abbas, spend the daylight hours visiting the city’s museums and historical monuments, and the night shopping or at least sightseeing in the city’s traditional markets. The old market, Uzi market and Lazi market are among the most attractive places to visit in Bandar Abbas at night. By walking in them, you can enjoy their traditional atmosphere and have a good opportunity to buy affordable souvenirs.

7. Warmi Island
Somewhere between Qeshm Island and Khemer Port, there is a low-lying sandy island called Varmi, which appears every day with the tide and goes under the water at the time of the tide. If you are lucky, you can also see Indian humpback dolphins.

Lawan is the third largest island of Hormozgan. However, it has less fame and more pristine nature than other Hormozgan islands. Winter is the best time to travel to Lavan.
