Solana Labs (SOL) has denied claims made by blockchain security firm CertiK about a bootloader vulnerability in Solana’s Saga smartphone.
Certic claims that this vulnerability could allow malicious actors to install infected programs and steal sensitive data, including the private keys of users’ cryptocurrency wallets.
However, Solana Labs argues that Certic’s claims are false, stressing that unlocking the bootloader and installing custom firmware requires users’ involvement and knowledge.
Beginning
The Solana Saga smartphone was launched in April 2022 at a price of $1,099. It offered a decentralized Web3 application store to integrate cryptocurrency applications with new technologies. But four months after its release, with a sharp drop in sales, Solana dropped its price to $599.
