Ledger, the maker of cryptocurrency hardware wallets, has warned Solana (SOL) users about a new attack that could compromise the security of their accounts.
In a tweet, the company warned of an ongoing phishing and address-poisoning scam targeting Solana users. In his tweet, Ledger advised Solana users that if they receive a dust transaction, do not click on any link in its note; Because these links may be malicious.

Beginning
In a dusting attack, the attacker sends small amounts of a cryptocurrency (in the term, dust) to cryptocurrency wallets. This type of attack is also called address poisoning attack. The general purpose of this attack is to trick users into accidentally copying a fraudulent address and sending funds to that address instead of the valid one.
In this regard, Ledger says, users who receive DUST tokens should avoid interacting with these tokens and should not transfer or send them to another account or token burning address; Because doing so may activate the malicious smart contract associated with these tokens. Instead, users should right-click on the token and select the Hide Token option to hide the balance of that token from the screen.
Ledger also advises Solana users to never share their recovery password with anyone.
