The Pantone Institute announced “Cloud Dancer” as the color of 2026; A range of natural white, which according to experts is a symbol of peace, rethinking and the universal need for a fresh start.
Since 1999, Pantone has chosen a color each year that reflects the cultural mood of the year ahead. Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, previously said:
We wanted to show the audience how what is happening in world culture is reflected through the language of colors.
Speaking to Vogue about the color of 2026, Pressman said:
We always ask ourselves if we are on the verge of an evolution or a great transformation. Today, more than ever, we see that we are living in a period of transition; A period in which we seek truth, new opportunities and a different way of living. Facing the conditions of recent years, these questions have become more prominent: how did we get to this point and how should we adjust our path anew? We have become too involved and now we are seriously looking for release and peace.
This release is introduced in a color format called Cloud Dancer; High-rise whiteness, which is a symbol of a sense of peace. Lee Eisman, CEO of Pantone, described the chosen color as follows:
This color is the manifestation of our desire for a future free from mental intoxication and excess. Cloud Dancer reflects our desire for contentment, harmony and a sense of peace, oneness and coherence.
Pressman also emphasizes:
It is not a pure and absolute white; Rather, it is a natural range of white.
From the point of view of aesthetics, white is unobtrusive and undisturbed. A color that is abundantly seen around us; From cars to architecture, furniture, interior design, even food and of course fashion, where white is a classic and always fresh color. White can simultaneously refer to futuristic, minimal, simple and clean sensibilities and be tied to traditions.
