Apple’s iOS 27 focus on stability and optimization; No flashy features

According to Mark Gurman, a famous Bloomberg reporter, after the significant changes of iOS 26, Apple’s main focus in iOS 27 is to improve performance, fix bugs and increase stability, and there is no news of introducing new features.

Gorman considers this version similar to Snow Leopard; A reference to macOS 10.6, which focused on quality and optimization rather than visual innovations.

Gorman explains that this is the first time since iOS 12 that Apple has focused on small but important improvements rather than new features. According to him, this approach is not limited to iOS 27 and other Apple operating systems including macOS 27, iPadOS 27 and tvOS 27 will also follow the same path.

According to this report, Apple engineers intend to reduce the excess volume of the system, fix bugs and increase the overall stability and efficiency of operating systems significantly; An approach similar to Apple’s policy when releasing Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

However, Apple has included a few new AI features for iOS 27 that could completely change the user experience:

1. Visual redesign of Siri

The voice assistant Siri in iOS 27 gets a visual redesign and gets an avatar similar to the Finder icon. These changes along with the improved ability to understand the situation and the meaning of the conversations that will be provided in the iOS 26.4 version will help users to have more natural conversations with this voice assistant.

2. A web search tool based on artificial intelligence

Apple is developing a new AI-powered search experience called World Knowledge Answers. This feature allows Siri to provide concise, direct and accurate answers to users’ common questions and rely less on traditional search results. This system works based on a wide and structured database to provide the required information to the user faster and smarter.

3. Redesign of Health application and Health+ service

The Health+ service is supposed to provide health coaching capabilities based on artificial intelligence; Including a collection of helpful educational videos by health professionals explaining various medical conditions and providing tips for improving lifestyles. Also, a new tool for monitoring nutrition will be added to this service.

The changes come as Apple plans to use a massively customized version of Google’s Gemini AI model for Siri. With 1.2 trillion parameters, this model is much more powerful than Siri’s current 1.5 billion parameter model. It is said that Apple will pay Google about one billion dollars annually for the use of this technology.
