One of the biggest weaknesses of Apple Vision Pro may be high in weight after high price. Apple is reportedly trying to provide a significant weight loss for the second generation of the headset, currently known as Vision Pro 2. According to one of the disclosures on the social network X, the company intends to fix the problem using titanium in the Vision Pro structure.
However, Apple is not supposed to make the entire body of the device from titanium; Rather, this metal will be used mostly in the interior structure of the headset. The outer part of the headset will continue to be aluminum and black. It also states in the same disclosure post that Apple’s next augmented reality headset will probably no longer have Vision Pro 2, but rather names such as “Vision” or “Vision Air”, which seems reasonable given its lighter design.
However, it would be interesting to see how Apple is using titanium, as the metal is highly priced and the company is trying to reduce the final price of the device in the next generation.
