After the start of its operation, the European Space Telescope was able to send test images to Earth.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, the first images related to the Euclid space telescope were sent and this new instrument has now officially started its work. The powerful scope was launched about a month ago and has now sent back its first data about the cosmos. According to the support team, the telescope has performed satisfactorily so far.
Currently, the telescope’s visible light and infrared cameras have captured images of the cosmos after a few months of setup. The cameras of this telescope with the name of visual imaging system and spectrometer along with near-infrared photometer have been able to attract the satisfaction of scientists.
Alexandra Roy, the manager of this project at the German Space Agency, said: Currently, the launch of this telescope is progressing successfully and soon this spacecraft will reach its final and stable position at a distance of one and a half million kilometers. The ESA telescope has a main mirror with a diameter of 1.2 meters, which is about half the size of the Hubble Space Telescope’s mirror. The Euclid telescope was not designed to record astronomical phenomena and understand them, and it is supposed to provide a comprehensive view of the universe by looking at large areas of the sky.
