Researchers have developed a new type of pill for chemotherapy that has shown great success in clinical trials.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, the researchers of the cancer research center in America used a protein that was not possible to use for treatment before. The new chemotherapy method invented by these scientists is very targeted and has been able to destroy tumors successfully. Currently, the new pill is being tested on laboratory mice, and according to these scientists, its experimental treatment on humans will also be done in the near future.
Dr. Linda Melkas, professor of molecular and experimental treatment at this center, says: Most of the targeted treatments are carried out in only one way, which eventually causes cancer to mutate and increase its resistance. A developed anti-cancer pill called AOH1996 has been in development for the past two decades. This pill can target a type of protein in cancer cells. This protein is responsible for replicating DNA and repairing tumors during proliferation. According to Melkas, this protein changes in cancer cells. Therefore, a drug was designed to target and destroy the form of this protein in these cells.
