According to the , citing the Research Institute of Fundamental Sciences, the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics in 2025 has been awarded to the international collaboration of CMS at CERN.
The award recognizes the collaboration’s outstanding achievements in precise measurements of the Higgs boson, the discovery of new strongly interacting particles, and the study of rare processes that have contributed to our deeper understanding of the structure of nature at the smallest scales.
The researchers of the Institute of Particles and Accelerators of the Institute of Basic Knowledge (IPM) are among the recipients of this international award, as one of the active members of the CMS collaboration.
This honor is the result of years of scientific, technical and executive efforts of CMS team members in the research institute in one of the most advanced scientific laboratories in the world.
