The official of Basij Science, Research and Technology Organization of Greater Tehran said: In order to create a serious scientific movement in the country, we must draw a clear path for setting goals and conclusions. In his remarks, the leader of the revolution mentioned 400,000 problems that should be considered as problems that can be solved by the youth and elites.
According to RCO News Agency, Majid Sahragard today in the “Rising to Soraya” event held at the Scientific Vice President’s Office, in a speech referring to the importance of creating a new scientific uprising in the country, said: We have started a scientific jihad camp in Tehran in order to fulfill the orders of the Supreme Leader regarding the creation of a new scientific movement, especially among the youth. This camp movement has been started in the structure of Basij Scientific Organization of Tehran, in order to accelerate the process of scientific and technological development.
Attention to the relationship between science and technology in the direction of the country’s development
Emphasizing the need to connect science and technology, he added: Science should not be limited only to universities and scientific centers, but should be connected to the industry and development of the country. This view has been followed in scientific mobilization since the beginning, and in this direction, different capacities will be used to advance scientific and technological goals.
Sahragard pointed to the capacities available in different regions of the country and said: Each region and each group of people have their own abilities that can help in this direction. This scientific movement should be in such a way that along with the development of technology, it will lead to the progress of the country in various fields.
The revolutionary leader’s view of science and youth
Referring to the statement of the second step of the Islamic Revolution, the official of Tehran Scientific Mobilization Organization added: One of the important recommendations of the Supreme Leader in this statement is to pay special attention to science and technology. In his meeting with the academics, he emphasized the necessity of creating a new scientific upsurge, which is not only exclusive to academics, but should spread to all levels of society, especially among the youth.
He also pointed out: In this direction, the responsibility and Jihadi movement of the youth should be prioritized. Basij and other institutions must act in sync and coordinate to achieve this goal.
Establishing knowledge-based companies and supporting scientific cores
Sahragard further pointed out the importance of establishing and supporting knowledge-based companies and said: In the science exhibitions that are being held, you can see many scientific cores that are trying to set up knowledge-based businesses by collecting knowledge and experience. These companies need technical and financial support to be able to connect to the market and solve society’s problems through that.
The need to pay attention to the existing capacities in the society for the growth of scientific movements
Sahragard further added: To create a serious scientific movement in the country, we must draw a clear path for setting goals and conclusions. In his remarks, Hazrat Agha mentioned 400,000 problems that should be considered as problems that can be solved by the youth and elites. These issues exist at different national and international levels and require serious attention and action from the scientific community.
He further emphasized the necessity of forming a chain of innovations and technologies in the country and said: We must create this innovation chain so that the country’s problems can be solved in a sustainable way.
Special attention to the link between science and the market for the development of the country
The official of Basij Science, Research and Technology Organization of Greater Tehran, continuing his speech by emphasizing the importance of connecting science with the market, stated: The Supreme Leader has mentioned in his orders the need for inventions and innovations to reach the market. Accordingly, by organizing different capacities, from the level of the bases, which are the initial links of the scientific chain, to the scientific workers who have reached the product stage, we are trying to advance all the stages of this process with precision and coordination.
Organization of scientific networks and the need to collaborate with industry
Stating that Basij and Foundation are considered as the main institutions of this scientific movement, he added: Our goal is to establish a direct relationship with the industry and the market by forming five rings in the scientific structure. These circles include institution building from the lowest levels to the highest scientific levels and should solve the real problems of the society with the cooperation of the industry and executive departments of the country.
Sahragard further pointed out the importance of close communication with industrial sectors and said: In order for these scientific circles to be successful, we need support and ordering networks. We request our colleagues in industry and factories to work in these support networks and help solve scientific problems in line with the goals of scientific jihad.
Efforts to motivate young people and support innovative projects
He also pointed out the importance of motivating young people and supporting innovative projects and said: In this direction, we must motivate the youth and elites of these fields to implement their innovative projects. The projects that are being pursued in the scientific and industrial fields can act as a successful model in this regard.
Sahragerd added: In addition to these plans, we need special support and organization. Since Basij is active in various scientific fields, we must strengthen the scientific cores in these fields and push them towards growth and production.
Development of scientific networks and commercialization of innovations
Referring to the importance of the commercialization of innovations, the official of the Tehran Scientific Mobilization Organization said: Our ultimate goal is that these scientific cores can become economic enterprises and provide their services to the people and the industry. For this purpose, they should receive the necessary support from the commercial sectors and commercial law of the country.
Support for scientific cores according to different capacities
Sahragard further emphasized the necessity of continuous support for scientific cores and added: We are using different capacities to support these cores in this direction. These supports will be different depending on the type of scientific fields and the growth rate of the cores. Our goal is to direct these cores towards commercialization and solving society’s problems.
He further stated: In this event, examples of these scientific cores have been exhibited in different departments, and we hope that these projects will come to fruition quickly due to the necessary support.
Focusing on empowering scientific bases and technology cores to create scientific developments
The official of Basij Science, Research and Technology Organization of Greater Tehran emphasized the importance of upgrading scientific and specialized bases and said: We are trying to upgrade our scientific bases from basic levels to specialized and elite levels. These bases should be able to attract scientific contacts and become innovative and specialized centers so that the scientific and research capacities of the country can be exploited.
The need for the cooperation of commanders and districts to upgrade scientific bases
He added: We expect commanders and officials from different areas to help us in this direction. With cooperation and consensus, we can create active scientific bases that can operate in specialized and elite fields and ultimately contribute to the scientific development and promotion of the country.
Focusing on scientific cores and specialized team building
Sahragard further pointed out the importance of team building and group activities in scientific fields and said: Scientific cores and teams that want to work in a specific scientific field must have a clear roadmap. We have divided the cores into three categories: enabling cores, technology cores and knowledge cores. The enabling cores are more active in strengthening the scientific and research bases, while the technology and knowledge cores are trying to transform their scientific capacities into exploitable technologies.
Imam Sadiq’s plan and the necessity of commercializing innovations
He also pointed to Imam Sadiq’s plan and said: Imam Sadiq’s plan, which is designed to strengthen soft technologies and creative industries, can help transfer these innovations to the business environment. The goal is to turn the cultural and educational activities in the bases into the business and commercialization phase.
Sahragerd explained: In this plan, innovation is considered as the main axis, but in the Baqir Science plan, the discussion of hard technologies and technical fields of engineering, agriculture and medicine is discussed. This plan helps the technology cores to bring their scientific projects from the research and development stage to the production and commercialization stage.
The need for growth centers for the evolution of scientific cores
The head of Tehran Scientific Mobilization Organization further pointed out the need to create growth centers to support scientific cores and said: In order for these cores to grow and reach the commercialization stage, they should be placed in a supportive environment such as growth centers. These centers can act as greenhouses for these cores and protect them from early failures.
He added: Currently, various growth centers are active in the Tehran Army Corps, which are supporting these teams as a platform for the activity of scientific cores. These centers, including the Martyr Moghadam Development Center and the Imam Hassan Mojtabi (AS) unit, have been operating for many years, and we plan to expand these activities and set up similar centers in other areas.
Support for cores and the need for greater consensus to achieve scientific goals
At the end of his speech, referring to the need for more cooperation for the development of these centers and scientific activities, Sahragard said: We hope to be able to accomplish what Hazrat Agha has in mind regarding the scientific jihad, and in this way, we will receive the necessary support from different areas and centers. God willing, with all-round cooperation, we will be able to create great developments in the field of science and technology.
