According to the Mehr news agency, citing the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, the sixth meeting of the monitoring committee on the implementation of the national knowledge-based document on food security was held in the secretariat of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, focusing on institutional alignment, resolving conflicts and strengthening coordination between the responsible institutions.
In this meeting, the members discussed the macro-policies of institutional alignment in the implementation of the knowledge-based document on food security. The purpose of these discussions was to create coherence in decision-making processes, resolve institutional conflicts, and strengthen macro coordination between relevant institutions.
The meeting continued with the presence of Taherinia, the secretary of the science and technology staff of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, and the issues related to the framework and the way of announcing the opinion of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution regarding the implementation of the national knowledge-based document on food security were discussed.
In the following, a member of the scientific faculty of Iran’s Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute proposed the establishment of a “Food Security Council” under the Supreme National Security Council by presenting a screenplay of the meeting’s discussions.
Based on the final summary of the meeting, it was decided that updating the report of the national knowledge-based document on food security will be included in the agenda of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.
Also, the members of the committee emphasized on using the capacity of the country’s inspection organization in order to prevent the ministries from abandoning their actions as a joint and agreed action.
