In a conversation with Mehr reporter, Seyyed Abdul Amir Nabovi said about the use of the opinions of the representatives of scientific associations in the country’s decision-making: Currently, two representatives from the scientific associations are present in the Supreme Council of Science, Research and Technology, and it has been decided that they will be in the 9 commissions. Ganeh The government and the representatives of the scientific associations should also participate as advisors and present the opinions of the scientific associations in the specialized areas of the government commissions.
Stating that several representatives from scientific associations have been introduced to the government for each commission, he said: This action has been taken recently and soon these representatives will be invited to obtain advisory opinions in the government’s specialized commissions.
The Secretary of Scientific Associations Commission said about the program to support scientific associations: All programs related to supporting the activities of scientific associations continue as usual. However, the new approach of the commission, in line with the country’s scientific policies, is focused on quality and attention to the boundaries of knowledge.
Referring to the small expansion of the number of associations, he said: The effort is to provide more effective and targeted support to about 400 active scientific associations under the supervision of the Ministry of Science, so that their activities can be followed at the national level and with higher quality.
Supporting scientific associations in emerging scientific fields
Pointing to the necessity of supporting emerging scientific fields, Nabawi clarified: There is a special focus on the development of scientific associations in fields such as artificial intelligence; Areas that have received less attention so far, but today are considered as the real needs of the country.
The Secretary of the Commission of Scientific Associations stated that in this field, numerous requests have been received from experts, experts and the associations themselves, and reminded: after expert review, if there is no scientific association in that area, the necessary permission will be issued and the support of the Ministry of Science will be applied (within the available facilities). This support includes limited financial aid, but at the same time spiritual support and communication between associations and executive bodies.
He considered the Commission of Scientific Associations to be a facilitating institution whose mission is to facilitate the internal and international communication of the associations, to strengthen their connection with executive bodies and to expand scientific cooperation at the national and global level.
Pointing to the importance of supporting the international activities of scientific associations in the form of conferences, meetings and concluding memorandums, Naboi said: These supports should lead to results and not just be limited to holding events.
