He said: Following the membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Brix Group, the Center for Presidential Transformation and Progress Cooperation was introduced as the focal point of Iran in this area within the framework of Brix cooperation due to international experience and capacities in the field of technology and innovation.
Hashemi, referring to the meeting of the Ministers of Science and Technology of the Brix countries last year in Russia, added: “The meeting was attended by the head of the Center for Transformation and Progress as a representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran and proposed to host Iran for the fourth session of the Spatial Information Working Group and its applications.
According to the Director of International Affairs of the Presidential Center for Transformation and Progress, the meeting will be held in collaboration with the country’s specialized and scientific institutions, including the Mapping Organization, the Meteorological Organization, the Iranian Space Organization, the Space Research Institute, the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organization, the University of Tehran, and Khaje Nasir al -Din University of Technology.
The director of the Presidential Cooperation and Progress Center, referring to the international dimension of the event, said: “BRIX countries, including Brazil, China, Russia, India, Indonesia, Ethiopia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, attended the meeting online, and powerful Iranian collections were active.
He explained: The meeting program was designed in two days, which was focused on introducing the capacities, capabilities and opportunities of cooperation between member states on the first day, and on the second day, joint areas for cooperation in the field of location information and its applications were discussed and exchanged.
Hashemi also announced the preparation of a final document after the end of the meeting and said: “The issues raised at the meeting will be summarized and approved by a multilateral cooperation document.” This document is based on the joint activities of countries in the field of location information next year. Also, at the next meeting of the task force, a report of actions will be presented on the basis of approvals.
In the end, he emphasized: “This meeting is not only an opportunity to showcase Iran’s capacities in the field of modern technologies, but also a platform for the development of scientific, technological and knowledge cooperation with Brix countries.”
