Ancient rivers are a clue to the existence of life on Mars

Scientists have been trying to find evidence of rivers in the universe and the solar system. In the meantime, geologists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology invented a new technique to measure the flow of rivers. According to them, satellite observations and equations used on the ground to calculate the speed of river movement can reveal the characteristics of rivers.

Although it is not possible to study rivers in person, but with the new method, it is possible to express possibilities about the behavior of rivers. “The exciting thing about Titan is that it’s active,” said Taylor Perron and Ida Greene, from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at MIT. With the new technique, we can have a real forecast of a place that has not been able to receive information for a long time.
