Dr. Dinarvand said on the sidelines of the Mustafa Prize Advisory Council meeting: Today’s meeting was held with the participation of four prominent scholars of the Islamic world.
He added: Members of this advisory committee have a two -year period and during this time they will identify the problems of Islamic countries and provide solutions. Today’s session, which lasted about three hours, was dedicated to this.
The head of the Mustafa Foundation’s Arbitration Committee described the output of these meetings as the formation of workgroups that focus in different areas, adding: Members present their solutions to the foundation. These solutions are used both at the Mustafa Foundation and at the Organization of the Islamic Conference and other international scientific platforms.
Dinarvand said about the goals of these meetings: Producing documents for the Organization of the Islamic Conference is one of our other goals in order to formulate appropriate policies for scientific and technology development in the Islamic world and increase the share of Islamic countries in this area.
Referring to the position of Mustafa’s award in connecting Islamic scientists, he added: “This award is one of the most important scientific awards in the Islamic world, presented by the Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation and has been held five periods without a state budget.” The award is worth about $ 6,000 and is awarded to prominent scholars of Islamic countries as well as Muslim scholars living outside of these countries.
He emphasized that the scientists of the Mustafa Prize are becoming patterns for youth and researchers in the field of science and technology in the Islamic world and their successful experience can help develop science and technology in the region.
The head of the Mustafa Foundation’s Arbitration Committee pointed to the development of scientific endowment in the award: Some winners have donated their total amount to the Foundation for youth and academics, and others have accepted short -term courses in their laboratories for students and researchers. Our main goal at the Mustafa Foundation is to develop and develop cooperation among Islamic scientists.
He pointed to the challenges of Islamic countries: Although some countries are economically and scientifically in a good position, in general the share of the Islamic world is economically, scientific production and inventions less than the population of about one billion Muslims.
Referring to some of the reasons for the backwardness of Islamic countries, Dinarvand stated: The reasons for this backwardness include inefficient government management, low investment in research and development, and lack of access to education. Resolving these issues and increasing investments is the most important way to promote the scientific and technology status of Islamic countries.
He said that while the Zionist enemy has about 2 % investment in research and development, this figure in Islamic countries is less than one percent. To succeed, we need to increase investment and serious attention to science and technology.
He added that despite the significant population of Islamic countries, their share in the economy and science of the world is less than expected. One of the main reasons for this backwardness is the inefficient management of the macro level of governments and the lack of prioritization of technology.
Dinarvand emphasized: The lack of focus on technology and innovation has created major restrictions on the economic and scientific development of Islamic countries.
Dinarvand emphasized that Islamic countries in the advanced areas of technology are still far from leading countries, adding: “In addition, our investments in the fields of science and technology are not sufficient and should be increased.” Fortunately, the Mustafa Foundation and members of the Advisory Committee are trying to strengthen this path.
He said: “Our task in the foundation, and especially in the position of the Arbitration Committee and the Advisory Committee, is to guide and support the development of science and technology in the Islamic world to increase the share of Islamic countries in the field of science and technology.”
