The call will support up to three post -doctoral researchers approved by Insf and IIASA, according to the . The deadline for submitting proposals is set from 1 August to September 5.
Each postgraduate course will be 6 months, and if the Insf and IASA agreed, it is possible to renew for another 6 months. Researchers must divide their time equally between Iran and the IISA Institute. Each postgraduate course requires a supervisor in Iran and at least one supervisor at the IISA Institute and is expected to have a continuous interactive researcher with both professors. Holding a virtual meeting between Iranian researchers and supervisors and IIASA is required for a joint design of the research project.
This support is provided to Iranian nationals who have received a doctorate from Iranian universities or research institutes and are provided with high research capabilities and are at the beginning of their research career. A maximum of five years from the graduation time of the PhD should not be over until the proposal is submitted. Also, faculty members or individuals in the process of recruiting the faculty are not eligible to participate in this call. Applicants must examine the IISA Institute’s research programs and identify their desired research team before any action; It should be noted that the IISA Institute lacks laboratory facilities.
Selected researchers will have significant financial support. These support includes postgraduate rights for six months in accordance with the tariff approved by the Scientific Council and the project’s executive costs. The cost of implementing the project includes the cost of living in Austria for six months (equivalent to € 2 rials, which is the exact amount by the International Committee) and the cost of the Economics Class Class Airlines (Tehran to Vienna and vice versa).
Also, the project supervisor’s fees will be paid in accordance with the tariff approved by the Scientific Council and the cost of a short travel (maximum 2 days) to Austria will be provided for the supervisor of the project up to 2 million USD (after the International Committee approved).
The process of transmitting the proposal is done in two stages to accelerate the relationship between Iranian researchers with the faculty members of IIASA. In the first stage, applicants must register their completed form of their proposal in the Research Management System of the National Science Foundation of Iran. After evaluating the proposals in the Foundation’s Systemic Attitude Specialist Committee, in the second phase, the IISA Institute’s faculty members are introduced to applicants. After correspondence and receiving an interest in cooperating with the IISA faculty member, the applicant loads the letter into the system and then the proposals enter the final arbitration process.
All submitted documents, including proposal form and time program, applicant resume (maximum 2 pages) and two recommendations (preferably by PhD guide) must be prepared and uploaded in English.
