The Kepler-1 poem has three rocky cloud planets and a huge gas planet that was later discovered. The gap between the circuits of these planets indicated that there is probably another planet. The researchers were able to predict at least one other planet by accurately measured the circuits.

“The problem is not precisely the planets that do not exist, but to find conditions where the planet can be deduced from that place,” said one authors.

The initial identification of a planet by the Kepler telescope is usually followed by observations from Earth. Astronomers, using the radial velocity (RV), can find how much power to the star and thus measure its mass. Sometimes the same method also leads to the discovery of new planets, such as the distant planet called Kepler-1.

In the poems, each planet is not only influenced by its star’s gravity, but other planets in the poem. These forces change a little when a planet passes through the star. This phenomenon is called “changes in the time of passage” (TTV). These changes can reveal the existence of hidden planets, even if they do not directly pass the star in front of the star.

When researchers see TTVs that are not related to known planets, they can confidently state that an unknown planet has observed in the poem.

In this regard, the researchers observed the gaps of the identified systems and used RV and TTV to search for a missing planet.
