According to the Amateur Committee of the Iranian Astronomical Association, on Friday, May 9, the Astronomy Day will be held in Iran in various cities of the country.
This occasion has been selected in coordination with other countries based on one of the weekends between April 1 (April 5) and May 1 and at the same time as the first month. This year, this occasion with Teacher’s Day on the official calendar of the country led the Amateur Committee of the Iranian Astronomical Association to select the slogan “Astronomy, Education and Promotion of Science” for Astronomy Day.
According to the committee, astronomy week programs will be held in different cities of the country from May 1-8, but the main focus of the programs will be on Friday, May 9.
Khosrow Jafari Zadeh, head of the Iranian Astronomical Association’s Amateur Committee and the Secretary of the Astronomy Day, announced the list of public programs in various parts of the country, saying: “At this global occasion, astronomy groups and associations will voluntarily and freely organize public education and education programs.”
The plans announced for some cities in some cities of the country are as follows:
Tehran: Zafaraniyah Observatory, Major General Fallahi Street (Zafaraniyah), 4-5pm
Tehran: Mina Dome Skyscraper, Water Park and Nowruz Park, Hemmat & Modarres Highway intersection, 4-5pm
Tehran: Tehran House (Union Cultural Assembly), Lalehzar Street, End of Union Stock, No. 1, 4-5pm
Isfahan: Adib Astronomy Center, Saadat Abad Street, Next to Amin Sports Complex, Adib Stainless
Mashhad: Kohsangi Garden, Science and Astronomy Culture, 4-5pm
Rasht: Nation’s Garden, Gilan’s Astronomy Association, 4-5pm
Zahedan: Family Garden, Moallem Street, 4-5pm
Maragheh: Maragheh Historical Observatory, 4-5pm
Marivan: Sirangi Kani Bono, 4-5pm
Bam: Dehbakri, 1 to 4 pm
Jam City: Chugaceas Park, 4:50 pm
These events mainly include exhibitions, educational booths, familiarity with astronomical tools, monthly observation and telescopes, scientific lectures and astronomical training workshops, which are held in collaboration with local scientific activists and members of astronomy associations.
The Amateur Committee of the Iranian Astronomy Association invites those interested in the science of science to experience a different experience of the universe and the beauty of the universe by attending these programs.
