Sensors placed in shopping carts could be a new way to detect heart attacks early, scientists say.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, although the trolleys in supermarkets may be very worn out, but according to researchers, they can be used to identify people at risk of stroke through the sensors in the handles.
According to a recent report published by the British Heart Foundation, one out of 45 people in this country suffers from heart problems, and there is a risk of stroke due to abnormal heartbeats. While early detection can prevent accidents, researchers have developed a new method to identify people at risk. By installing electrocardiogram sensors in the handles of shopping carts, adults’ hearts can be checked for abnormal beats. This method was tested in 4 stores during three months with the presence of 2155 adults.
To test, these people held the handles of the trolley for 60 seconds. If they received signs of atrial fibrillation by the sensors on the handle, a red cross would light up. Finally, the data obtained for potential people to suffer from atrial fibrillation by a cardiologist. It was investigated that 59 participants were suffering from this disease and 39 of them did not know about their disease.
