According to the National Science Foundation of Iran (Insf), “phytochemical, molecular, and pollination mismanagement study in a number of Mohammadi flower genotypes and its hybrids” is a doctoral dissertation by Hamid Ahadi, with the guidance of Majid Shakpour and the support of the National Science Foundation of Iran. Finished.
Ahadi explained about the project: Mohammadi flower is one of the most important and valuable medicinal plants, including essential oils, rose water, flowers, dried buds, canacrit and Absolut. The essential oil of this plant is widely used in perfume and cosmetics, medicine as well as in the food industry.
He added: Due to the dry climate of Iran and the decline in water resources, the cultivation area of this plant is increasing every year. Limited domesticization of Mohammadi flowers has caused numerous production problems at the level. One of the major problems with Mohammadi is the low percentage of the essential oil.
The researcher and researcher said: “Another problem with Mohammadi flower is the hard harvest. Being thorny, short flowering period and petal falling one day after the flower is opened, making the flower harvest and increasing the cost of harvesting.
He added: “On the other hand, given the importance of Mohammadi flower essential oil in the perfume and food industry export industries, this valuable product can help the country’s economy significantly.” This doubles the importance of reforming Mohammadi flower to achieve new figures with high quality essential oils.
Ahadi added: Given that the origin of the Mohammadi flower is Iran; Therefore, there is a good potential in terms of the diversity of different flowering genotypes in the country, which is important in the reform process.
He also stated that, given the investment of countries such as Turkey and Bulgaria in various areas of Mohammadi, it is necessary to develop targeted research programs to improve the country’s real place in the field of production and trade of this plant.
In addition to the phytochemical study of selected genotypes, the researcher and researcher also noted that targeted hybrids as well as Trance Computum studies were conducted to identify genes related to essential oil production. The results of this study could take a major step in the classic and molecular modification of Mohammadi flower.
