The head of the National Science Foundation of Iran named artificial intelligence, quantum, cyber security, micro- and nano-electronics, plasma and cryogenics as the supported subjects and said: in the form of this support, doctoral students are supported up to 250 million tomans, or in other words, fish They receive 10 million Tomans for 2 years.
Soltani continued: 250 million Tomans will be awarded directly to the students and 50 million Tomans will be allocated to them to purchase other items such as equipment and raw materials.
While pointing out that the audience of this call are doctoral students of all universities in the country, he added: Our support is defined in two parts, one part of which is researches and doctoral theses in fundamental and basic fields, and the other part is applied theses, and it is expected that in the second part, the production A product or software sample should be made.
In 1403, the record of receiving research projects in the foundation was broken
The head of the National Science Foundation of Iran stated that in 1403 the record of receiving projects in the foundation was broken and so far (the first 8 months of the year) we have reached the number of projects received in 1402, he noted that the number of projects sent to the foundation in 1402 was 3097 Out of this number, 1029 projects have been approved and from this number, equivalent to 216 billion Tomans have been supported. Out of 1029 approved projects, 320 were postdoctoral projects and 188 were doctoral thesis projects.
240 billion support for 840 approved research projects from the beginning of 1403 until now
Soltani further clarified: In 1403, we have received 3142 projects in the foundation, of which 840 projects have been approved and supported with a credit of 240 billion Tomans. Out of this number of projects approved in the first 8 months of the year, 230 post-doctoral projects and 182 doctoral thesis projects have been supported. According to the statistics, 65% of the plans sent to the foundation are rejected due to the high quality of the judgments, and from now on, we intend to inform people of the reason for the rejection of the plans.
Definition of prestigious 5 and 10 year grants in universities and research institutes
Stating that the publication of calls in the fields of humanities, arts and social sciences will increase, Soltani said: We are also planning to define prestigious grants for 5- and 10-year missions in universities and research institutes.
He continued: In the last two years, efforts have been made in the foundation to make the calls targeted and in line with the support of researches, which have been published mainly with the support of institutions and organizations such as the Ministry of Science, Jihad of Agriculture and other institutions. In these calls, research projects are announced to researchers and they are invited to send their research projects, and after judging, approved projects are supported.
