His research group created a unique model of “blastocyst” called “blastoid” using stem cells in a laboratory environment. Blastocyst is an embryonic stage that can implant in the uterus and make embryonic organs and extraembryonic tissues. As a model of embryo, blastoids are suitable tools for systematic analysis of the effect of cell number, states and communication mechanisms on embryo formation.

Also, the opening ceremony of the 25th International Congress of Reproductive Medicine and the 20th International Congress of Stem Cells and Embryo Regenerative Medicine will be held on the same day at 8 am.
