New research shows that there is a strong connection between Alzheimer's disease and the consumption of processed foods.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, in their recent studies, researchers examined the eating habits of people with Alzheimer's disease. In this research, they realized that there is an important connection between this disease and the consumption of processed foods such as pizza and hamburgers.
Australian researchers analyzed the eating habits of 438 people in their self-study. According to these researchers, people with diseases such as Alzheimer's consume more processed foods such as sausage, pizza, hamburger and ham. Also, the desire to eat fruits and vegetables is much less in these people.
According to the published article, the researchers in this study examined about 108 Alzheimer's patients and compared their eating habits with 330 healthy people. In this study, researchers from Bond University and Griffith University in Australia managed to find a strong connection between Alzheimer's and the daily consumption of processed foods. A biostatistician at this university says about this research: Alzheimer's develops in the brain from middle age and its effects are related to an uncontrolled lifestyle from an early age.
In addition to the mentioned cases, other factors such as sports activities, genetic factors and sleep patterns can also affect this disease. Therefore, the data of the new research is not considered complete and comprehensive. Because diet alone cannot increase the risk of Alzheimer's. On the other hand, it is still not possible to attribute the results related to eating habits to Alzheimer's. Also, the effect of diet on human health is known and according to this research, the food consumed during the day can play an important role in our susceptibility to diseases such as Alzheimer's.
