Researchers believe that even two servings of meat per week can be related to type 2 diabetes.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, in their recent study, researchers have found a close relationship between the consumption of processed or unprocessed red meat and type 2 diabetes. The harms of using red meat too much have been identified before. The people of America, Argentina, Serbia and Australia consume an average of 100 kg of meat per year.
Xiao Ku, one of the researchers of this study and the main author of the article from the Harvard School of Public Health, says about this: In this study, we were able to find a small statistically significant increase in the risk of diabetes by consuming even two servings of red meat per week. This risk can increase with increasing consumption.
In this study, it was found that type 2 diabetes can be prevented to the same extent if the consumption of red meat is replaced with vegetable protein sources. Kierson Petrozzi, a nutritionist, says about red meat: Red meat has a red color in its raw state, and after processing, it changes its shape and its taste changes as well. Red meat processing means smoked or fermented. Of course, it should be kept in mind that this study was not related to white meats such as chicken, Turkey and fish.
