In their recent research, scientists announced that some diets can rejuvenate the brain in addition to weight loss.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, diets including the Mediterranean diet rich in vegetables and little processed foods can also be effective on the brain system. Diets high in vegetables, seafood, and whole grains can prevent signs of rapid brain aging if combined with just 1 percent weight loss, new research shows.
The brain scan of the participants of this research after a period of 18 months shows that their brains have also become younger by 9 months along with proper diet. These studies also show that biological age can be much more than a feeling. Before this, signs of biological age could only be identified in the DNA of people. But now, in new researches, the effects of this age can also be found in the reduction of brain connections.
In a recent study, brain scans of 102 participants in a clinical study were used. These scans were taken once before the experiment and again 18 months after the different diets. The diets of the participating groups also included a Mediterranean diet with lots of brains, the use of chicken instead of red meat, and a diet based on nutritional guidelines. During the experiment, people lost about 2.3 kg of weight. Also, their brains were about 9 months younger than their birth certificate age for each percentage of weight loss.
