NASA announced that if there is no suitable alternative for the international station in the form of a commercial space, this station can continue its activities after 2030.
According to Tekna’s technology and technology news service, NASA Vice President Bauer Sox announced during a conference that this space agency has made flexible decisions for the future of the International Space Station. Therefore, this station will only be retired when its replacement platform is established.
During this conference, he announced: There is no obligation to stop the flight of the International Space Station in 2030. This is not a mandatory program, but NASA intends to implement it if new platforms are available.
The International Space Station was a joint project between NASA and other Western countries including Canada, Europe and Japan. This space structure has been operating since 1998 and is orbiting the earth. Russia, as NASA’s partner in the International Space Station, has announced that it will continue its cooperation in this station until 2028.
Bauer Sox made these comments while there are now concerns about NASA funding for projects related to the commercial space station. Some of these concerns have been about creating pressures due to the lack of funds of this space agency and forcing them to extend the operation of the space station.
