Revisiting the moon will be accompanied by recording new photos of this moon. For this reason, scientists are looking for new cameras to take more pictures of the moon’s surface.
According to Tekna technology news service, the NASA imaging team together with the astronauts and scientists of the European Space Agency plan to develop a handheld global lunar camera for imaging in the Artemis program.
The new camera with its special design for lunar exploration is undergoing tests under the guidance of the European Space Agency. This team plans to test several features, such as a thermal chamber with the ability to withstand temperatures from minus 200 degrees to plus 120 degrees, with the aim of adapting this camera to space. Also, buttons are installed on this camera, which allows the astronauts to work with it easily despite their spacesuits.
During the next mission to the moon, documentation and image preparation are very important. From this new camera group, scientists should have the ability to image daylight, the ability to simulate the harsh conditions of the moon in the darkness of the volcanic caves of this moon.
