Procedures for obtaining permanent residence in Canada through the Quebec Skilled Worker Program
Applicants who intend to apply for Canadian permanent residence through the Quebec Skilled Worker Program must go through the following steps:
- Registration of interest formExpression of Interest) on the Arima portal
In the first step, applicants must register an Expression of Interest or EOI form on the Arima portal. Arima is an online platform where applicants to immigrate to the province of Quebec enter their information and can manage their account.
Any person over 18 years of age who intends to immigrate to Quebec and obtain permanent residence in Canada through the Quebec Skilled Worker Program can set up an account on the Arima portal. Applicants must register details such as educational qualification, work experience, language qualification, age, etc. in the Arima portal. Submitting the expression of interest form is free and does not require payment.
- Invitation to apply by the immigration department of Quebec province
At this stage, based on the criteria we reviewed in the Quebec Skill Worker program scoring system, the profiles registered in the Arima portal will be scored.
The provincial government of Quebec invites the applicants who have obtained the most points by conducting periodic lotteries. If you do not receive an invitation within 12 months after sending the expression of interest form, you can send a new expression of interest form again for free while checking your conditions.
- Obtaining the Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ)
People who have obtained the most points in the Quebec Skill Worker Program scoring system have 60 days after receiving the invitation to apply for the Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). This step requires payment of $869 for the main applicant and $186 for each spouse and child.
- Application for permanent residence in Canada
After receiving the Quebec selection certificate, it will be possible to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Considering that the permanent residence visa is issued by the federal government of Canada and the application review process is different from that of the provincial government, applicants must provide the necessary documents and pay the required fees.
