The Canadian Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Board (IRCC) announced that it plans to remove job offer points from the Canadian Express System. These changes, introduced as a temporary measure, are to be implemented from the spring of this year.

Currently, applicants who create profiles in the Express Entry system and have a valid job offer can receive additional 2 or 5 points in the CRS Comprehensive System. These additional points often have a huge impact on receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence (ITA). By implementing these changes:

• All new and new applicants in the Express Entry pool, even those who work temporarily in Canada, will be affected.
• This change will include all job suggestions in different economic sectors and will not be limited to a specific area.

On December 5, the Canadian Immigration Minister Mark Miller announced that the granting of a LMIA -based job offer (labor market impact assessment) will be eliminated in the CRS system.
