The Canadian province of Quebec has held the largest Arrima reception on August 12, 2021. The details of this admission have been published recently.
The Quebec Ministry of Immigration has issued invitations to 515 Skilled Worker applicants through the Regular Skilled Worker Program Quebec. Invitations are issued to applicants who have an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile in the online registration portal called Arrima.
In this admission, applicants who had one of the following conditions were invited:
- Their jobs have been announced in the list of jobs and they had at least 591 points in the bank expression of interest portal Arrima;
- They had a valid job offer outside the greater Montreal area;
- People who work in Quebec as diplomats, consular agents, representatives of the United Nations, or representatives of any other intergovernmental organization with their employees who pursue their activities in Quebec;
- have been self-employed.
This was the first admission that has been held after the introduction of the new immigration classification system known as QRSWP.
To immigrate to Quebec through the Regular Skilled Worker Program (QRSWP) Quebec, applicants must first register their EOI profile through Arrima. The Quebec Ministry of Immigration or Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) reviews the bank of profiles and issues invitations to people who meet certain criteria based on the needs of the Quebec labor market. It should be noted that the province of Quebec manages its immigration programs based on criteria and processes that are different from other Canadian immigration programs.
What is the Arrima system?
It should be mentioned that it was last year that Quebec unveiled the Arrima portal; The system is designed to receive EOIs through the Quebec Skilled Worker program and manage applicants’ applications. The EOI is not an application, but simply a way for the applicant to declare his desire to the Quebec Ministry of Immigration to receive a Quebec Selection Certificate. In Arrima’s new EOI-based system, which replaces the previous system, applicants 18 and older who wish to immigrate to Quebec through the QESWP are profiled and scored based on the following factors:
Age;
education;
area of expertise;
work experience;
Fluency in English and French;
Valid and approved job offer or job offer;
Ability to cover living expenses for yourself and your family for the first three months of arrival in Quebec;
Having family and friends who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and live in Quebec.
Applicants who receive a CSQ submit their application for permanent residence to the Federal Department of Immigration and receive Canadian permanent residence after medical tests and effective absence of criminal history.
Quebec and Canada immigration plans for the future

Quebec plans to attract up to 47,500 new immigrants in 2021.
