According to Canadian news, quoted by CTV, Montreal protesters gathered in front of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office and marched to the office of other high-ranking members.
Protesters called on Ottawa to quickly implement a comprehensive regularization program for undocumented immigrants — a long-standing demand that advocates say is closer than ever to reality under recent moves by the federal Liberal government.
In December 2021, Minister of Immigration and Citizenship Trudeau was asked to further explore ways to determine the status of undocumented workers, building on existing pilot programs that contribute to Canadian communities.

According to one expert, if the plan is implemented as demanded by the protesters, it will weaken Canada’s current immigration system.
Others say that Canada should increase its immigration rate because businesses are facing labor shortages and are forced to close, even though there are decent people in Canada to work with. They have, but issues such as residency status prevent this from happening and these people cannot be part of Canadian society.
